Urban Wilderness Observation

This ongoing photographic record is a documentation of the natural world thriving along the Joe Michael Miles walking path, a 5-mile route located right next to a busy New York highway.

Walking this same path across different seasons and hours of the day, I began to notice a richness of life unfolding close to our daily human routine. I became fascinated by the concept of urban biodiversity. These photographs capture that reality—the diverse variations of local flora, the transitions of changing seasons, and the ecosystems of the small animals and insects that call this environment home.

このプロジェクトは、ニューヨークの交通量の多い幹線道路のすぐ脇に位置する全長5マイル（約8キロ）の遊歩道「ジョー・マイケル・マイルズ・パス（Joe Michael Miles walking path）」沿いで息づく自然の姿を記録したものです。

季節や時間帯を変えてこの道を歩くうちに、人間の日常の営みのすぐそばで繰り広げられる生命の豊かさに気づくようになりました。そして、「都市の生物多様性」という概念に強く惹かれるようになったのです。地域の多様な植物、移ろいゆく季節の表情、そしてこの環境を住処とする小動物や昆虫たちの生態系。
